As a longtime automotive parts manufacturer, material is critical to the parts that we make. Thermoflex’s materials ensure that our legacy of quality and performance continues to this day. We have decades of experience with Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs) and Thermoplastic Olefins (TPOs). While material technologies evolve and improve, Thermoflex has distinguished itself by identifying the perfect balance between feel and performance to help make polymer science approachable for our customers.
Thermoflex is not merely a consumer of plastic resins – we are innovators. Thermoflex was central in the initial push to move the auto industry from older, more harmful materials to 100% recyclable TPEs and TPOs. Our legacy of innovation continues to this day as Thermoflex continues to drive the development of new materials for automotive applications. Our newest development is our Bionomer™ family of materials. These resins represent the next big shift in plastics manufacturing as they substitute petrochemical components with sustainable and renewable alternatives.
Adaptable materials
While it can mimic the properties of other plastics, the true advantage of TPOs and TPEs lies in their processability: all the materials are processed the same way, so hard plastic parts and soft plastic parts can be made on the same machine.
Recyclability
What truly differentiates our materials from other plastics is the fact that all of our materials are 100% recyclable. This allows end-users of our products to easily recycle our products, and allows us to reconstitute our own internal scrap.
